    Message from Old River Principal

    Dear Old River parents,

I hope you are all healthy and well.  With all the constant updates and changes, I appreciate your patience with the process and planning the school and district are doing.

Please note that any testing for your child registering for kindergarten or TK is postponed.  You will receive updates either from myself, or from the district superintendent, Harvey Yurkovich as we get more information from the state as to the shelter in place requirements and when they are lifted, and our plan moving forward.

Please note that the testing is not a requirement to start kindergarten or TK, but does give us a good baseline of where children are at when they start, and for measuring growth.  It is a very basic assessment of what a child knows about shapes, colors, numbers and counting, letter recognition, writing their name, and basic motor skills.

Please remember that we have packets for those entering TK and Kindergarten next year, to work on now to help them develop some of those skills.  They can be picked up in our Tuesday drive thrus from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Knightsen, or you can pick them up whenever convenient in the hallway of the Knightsen main building.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

    Sincerely,

    Ray Witte
